Stretch & Burn is a Yorkshire brand that designs apparel for people who care for the planet, we create product that is designed to last. We believe that longevity is the key to sustainability and want to educate the world that if you buy cheap you buy twice. We only work with quality factories that are close to home, we don’t want our product flying halfway around the world, and its less distance for us to go and visit them to ensure that they meet our stringent quality requirements. We are different from other brands as we use our network of friends and our own knowledge to design and develop product with little design details that aren’t always picked up on. Like the flap in our running top  so that you can look at your smart watch whilst you are running or working out.

Made in Europe

We want to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum so we source our garments from Europe, specifically Portugal as it is renowned for its quality and workmanship. I have been buying product from Europe for over 10 years and it has taught me that if you pay more and buy from a great factory with real quality you get happy customers with products that last. We also feel proud that we continue to support Europe and that we are sustaining their livelihoods. Its important to us that we support factories in Europe because of their quality, sustainability and ethical approach to making garments. Our factory is a small family owned business paying their employees fairly.

Sustainable Leggings

All our leggings are sustainable and made with Italian fabric, sourced from the market leading mill who are partnered with two very important partners: Healthy Seas and Aquafil SpA. They are recycled fabrics made from ECONYL® yarn a 100% regenerated nylon yarn derived from pre and post industrial waste such as discarded fishing nets, carpet fluff (the top part of Nylon carpets which have got to the end of their useful life), once they have reached the end of their useful life, instead of being disposed of in the landfill, are recovered and regenerated. 

 

Our leggings are designed for a number of activites, pilates, yoga, running, gym, Hiking, loungewear or even walking the dog. Whether you are chilling at home or feeling the burn of an intensive workout we have picked fabric that will perform and are easy to wash, dry and look amazing. We believe there is no excuse for brands to be using environmentally damaging fabrics to produce leggings. Although many of the fabrics used in this list are natural, lycra and elastane are used to create a fabric that stretches. This means the leggings are going to last longer and remain efficient. To keep our waters and oceans free from plastic pollution, try washing your leggings in a guppy bag. This will collect any microplastics from the washing.
